Rotary Canine Donation

October 22, 2014 by Kevin Fitzpatrick

The Chain of Lakes Rotary held its first Chain of Giving dinner in 2012 and selected the Lino Lakes Police Canine fund as the recipient of the funds raised at the dinner.

Lino Lakes Police Department first canine, Recon, had been funded through community donations in 2002 and after nearly an 11 year police canine career Recon was retired.  The Lino Lakes community once again saw the value of having a canine team in the community and raised over $20,000 dollars to purchase, train and equip the new Lino Lakes Police Canine team, Officer Pete Noll and Canine Justice.

During the check presentation on March 23, 1012 Chief of Police John Swenson stated, “It is through the generous support of organizations like Chain of Lakes Rotary that we continue to provide high quality public safety services to the Lino Lakes community and the surrounding communities.  Thank you Chain of Lakes Rotary for your $3,000 donation supporting the police canine fund.”
