Mary Healy previously served three years as a librarian, including as the equivalent to a branch manager for Anoka County’s St. Francis branch library. Her library career, which spans 11 years for Anoka County, has included working at the Centennial, Johnsville, Crooked Lake and Rum River library branches. From 1998 until 2005 Healy served as a naturalist at the Westwood Hills Nature Center in St. Louis Park. In 2005 she was encouraged by a children’s librarian at the Hopkins Library to consider library work. Through her love of reading and working alongside others, Healy decided it would be a good fit and she went on to earn her master’s degree in Library Science.
At the library’s Centennial branch, Healy desires to help foster continued community engagement. One of her goals is to offer more adult programming as well as kids’ programming through the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
